About La Dolce Vita
We are committed to using only the finest authentic ingredients, prepared and freshly cooked with a simplicity that will delight even the most discerning of tastes. We have a selection of wines to complement the dishes, as well as Italian beers, spirits and soft drinks.
After living in Italy for fourteen years we decided to bring authentic Italian cuisine to Shropshire and run our own restaurant in Hill’s Lane, Shrewsbury, which we called La Dolce Vita.
It was September 1999 when La Dolce Vita opened its doors to an unsuspecting public who didn’t realise that “authentic Italian food” was something other than just pizzas and spag bol. Each dish is freshly prepared to order, using only the finest authentic ingredients, prepared and freshly cooked with a simplicity that will delight even the most discerning of tastes.
Patricia and Gennaro are your chefs. Patricia learnt all her skills alongside Luigi’s family in Italy. Gennaro studied food and catering at Radbrook College and developed a taste for winning awards when along with Gemma Dimelow and Peter Jones, Gennaro represented Radbrook College in the Nestlé Toque d’Or competiion – winning the Best Dessert, Best Coffee heat. Gennaro has continued to progress and is now a member of the Welsh Culinary Team which is ranked 6th in the world.
Over the last 10 years we have really enjoyed the whole experience of introducing a style of dining out in a friendly and relaxed environment which lets you feel as though you are eating Italian food, prepared by an Italian chef, in a restaurant in a neighbourhood in Italy.
During this time, we have built up a loyal band of regular customers but we also love to see new faces and hope they will become regulars too – we hope to see you soon!
